Did you know?
There was a railroad bridge that extended over Hallock Landing Road?
Rocky Point was a stop on the North Shore Railroad Line between Port Jefferson and Wading River. When the bridge was dismantled around 1938, the large reddish stones were repurposed as a bulkhead at Hallock Landing Beach. You can actually see three of these stones, which have been saved and repurposed as benches in the gardens of the Hallock Homestead.
